AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is the captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also the co-captain of the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020, along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley earlier. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to represent the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 which they won in second place. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists in the same calendar year , becoming the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
